Just an update guys and thanks for your advice too.

I took the plunge and signed up to Uno and switching away from EE. Just waiting for the migration to go through, this will be my first internet swap in 14 years I think but the process seems loads easier than it use to be.

Popped to Currys and got the TPLink VR2800 in the end due to the Broadcom chipset and seems to get good reviews. Once up and running I hope it's easy to setup the router
