Don't understand it really, can do that everyday of the year. You don't just get the best food and booze on one day of the year.

ps... I actually love the place and the peeps are soooo friendly or at least theywere when I went there many moons ago....  Better oop north than darn sarff methinks and I'm a true southerner <yuk> from the effluent south

I am going to make a public confession   ........   I  have always preferred  the  Dales to the Lake District  (as a Lancastrian I'm supposed to prefer the Lakes )     ...something to do with the M6  !!

Some years ago when I worked in London ,the architect who we worked for use to refer to us as 'You chaps from the north'.I think he imagined us all running down the M1 with axes and wearing loin cloths. 
At least the beers cheaper(and better in Yorkshire).I pay £1.70 a pint,how much do you pay ?

The White Rose of Yorkshire - none of that Lancashire rubbish.

The best thing to come out of Lancashire is the road to Yorkshire, heard these very words spoken by my grandfather, mind according to him he dug every hole and put up every telephone pole on the North Yorks Moors during the war.

We aren't that friendly and they're a queer lot in the West Riding.
