VMG8924-B10A flaky 5 GHz Wi-Fi
« on: August 31, 2020, 01:58:43 PM »

Does anyone here sometimes experience no internet throughput when connected via 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

What I mean by this is the client is connected to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network but nothing loads from the internet.

I have to disconnect and reconnect the client from Wi-Fi then the internet works then after a while this happens again.

No such issues when connected via 2.4 GHz however.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I tested another router for a few months and no such issues.

Sorry for my basic English I'm typing this in the toilet with one hand and can't be bothered to use elaborate phrasing.

Cheers

On some routers issue may be network key renewal interval, if it's to short it may don't renew properly. To fix this increase renewal time for example from 3600 seconds (one hour) to 86400 (one day)

I think this is the setting for me, 1800 which is too frequent and now set to 86400.

Thanks for that! ;D

Can't believe I only changed this setting now after having this router for years  :D
