If anybody is interested, one of the things on my letter to Santa last month was...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076HD5862... an oscilloscope in kit form, ~£25.
I think mine actually came from a different seller, but same device. It is of course little more than a toy, with 200kHz bandwidth. And I’d not pin my hopes on its accuracy. But still a nice little gadget, that will actually get used in a certain project I have lined up.
Construction was more challenging than expected owing to tinier components and ageing eyesight. Also resistors have colour codes that baffle me these days, having learned electronics in the days when resistors had just three coloured bands plus gold/silver for tolerance. But thankfully it all went together and does seem to work.
