Do all isp's keep a record of connection sync rates?
« on: June 02, 2008, 06:22:34 PM »

I was with aol at the begining of the year and had much higher syncs before bt started 'fixing' faults.

Does anyoneknow if aol would have a record of my sync rates (considering i left them in march)?
Or is it something only bt would have?
Would it be possible to get this information released under the data protection act?

thanks

I could be wrong but AFAIK, the ISP and DLM only has a record of the last x no of syncs over a period of time.

I shouldnt imagine this information would be retained by any ISP once you have left, since the info that the ISP gets comes from the BT database and not something they keep a permanent record of.

Yeah, I shouldn't imagine AOL (or probably any ISP in fact) will keep a sync-by-sync record of your connection rate.

The only things that may still be on record might be any BT speedtests you did whilst you were still with AOL (which records the sync rate in the results). But I wouldn't know whether these would even still be available, and even if they were, who would have access to them. AOL don't 'own' your line anymore, and your new ISP probably can't access them, so the answer to your question is more than likely no, I'm afraid :(

I'm pretty sure that even those are only retained for one week.

I know Zen keep a record under your account information. I think we store after you leave for a short period.
