New ECI line started with interleaving.
« on: July 30, 2018, 04:21:58 PM »

Decided to join the two line club again after having some problems when the world cup and Wimbledon were being broadcast in 4K.

Weird thing is that the new ECI line I have has interleaving enabled with INP of 3 on DS and 1 on US.

and unless plusnet told porkies after a DLM reset on my primary line it is still interleaved.

Could be related to this: https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2018/02/openreach-deploy-low-level-error-correction-new-fttc-lines.html

Quote
After last year’s Proof of Concept (PoC) test Openreach has now decided to start applying “low level error correction” on all new UK Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC / VDSL2) superfast broadband lines, which they hope will result in fewer fault reports being made by customers during the initial provision phase.

...

As above, this change is only a temporary tweak for the initial provision phase pre-DLM.

Basically it's a smart way to hide potential issues :P.

It's put my line below the threshold so they goofed.....  ::)

Well it's good job I have another 5 weeks off work so I can annoy my ISP.

I'm not sure but maybe a remote DLM reset will put it to fastpath, I somehow have doubts though. You may just have to wait until the initial phase is over (a few days?), then presumably it'll give you fastpath if it thinks your line can handle it. Otherwise badger your ISP saying your sync rates are below the threshold I guess, like you said :P.
