Janet was cooking breakfast this morning - it normally is turned down to nothing and has the lids down.
The heatwave is finally gone here. Everything is shrouded in waves of thick mist and fine rain. A friend of mine has come back to Scotland with his family and has rented a cottage on the mainland just in time to miss the good weather, if you like sunshine and heat that is.
Neighbours are desperate because of the drought, I cannot imagine where they are getting their water from, perhaps buying bottled water in big containers and filling toilets up with seawater or something, but it would all mean a lot of manual labour.
We have a deep borehole so are unique in that our water is never in any danger. We tend to get a drought every May early June, but it has been a bit later and more severe this year. We also have several huge tanks.
