Those are great clips. I love the 'moment of hatching' one with the cathedral clock chiming the hour. :)

The webcams are working again, and the chicks are getting bigger. :)

My goodness they really have grown since I last looked at the cams.
Its good to see that the "lil un" seems to have caught up too from what I can see and all 4 chicks are looking healthy.
The parents must be kept really busy trying to feed them. :)

I looked in this morning and got a bit of a shock - the nest was empty. But the other camera shows that the chicks have moved across into the right-hand section. The view isn't clear, so I can't see if all four are still there.

I certain I could see three but there could be four. As you say, hard to tell on that camera.

Yeah the RH cam isnt too clear and it doesnt help that theres some debris hanging down in front of the cam either :/

However after watching for a lil while I have just spotted four.  One is definitely smaller, and doesnt seem as mobile as the other 3.

Just been watching mama fill up two with bits of unfortunate prey, the third is coming in to the crowd for food, the fourth which is very small is being trampled over in the rush.
It will not survive.

Three out of four will be a good result for a peregrine.

Yes, I think you're right. It was always probable that the fourth one would be too small to make it.

I see on the peregrine blog that they are going to ring the chicks soon, There are normally two people abseil down to do the job.
Being 212 feet high the tower is a popular  place to do charity abseils down from the roof and its one of the things I would like to do.

A bit about the Cathedral.

    * The original church was founded by King Edmund in around 943 as a royal collegiate church however there is no trace of its existence today.

    * The current cathedral dates back from the 14th century although it appears to be based on an earlier medieval building which drawings show was about the same size as the present church. One theory is it became structurally unstable and was pulled down.

    * The tower dates from 1510 to 1530 and was built in the popular perpendicular gothic style of the time.

    * Derby Cathedral became a cathedral by Royal Charter in 1927.
