So I'm curious, how do APs work with cats, do you mesh them?
No not in this case as mesh was grayed out, so i guess its only for wifi repeaters
But its by far the best solution ive used
The modem/router is by the frontdoor, a bad place for wifi
So ive a cat 5e going from it to living room and to the kitchen
I took them off auto setup and set them to the same SSID and password, but changed them to channel 1,6,12 letting the tablets jump when needed
I just mac address filter for things like wifi lights so they dont move to a further away AP as they sometimes do, then alexa cant talk to it if next door washes out that 2.4g (bulbs dont do 5g)
You can use SSID names like network_AP1, _AP2 or different passwords too
I like this better than wifi repeaters as you get 100% from the router to AP, rather say 60% repeated to what looks like 100%
In most cases the 2.4g is so close in can be set to low and never get wiped out (mostly)
I use a wifi analiser on a phone to help with wifi, it opens up the one SSID to show the APs
