My BT Retail line when I had one came close to that latency. Plusnet not so much! My TTB line now is a little higher but am very interested in how someone on VDSL in Liverpool is managing 4ms to London.
Excuse me. Did you mention me or?
I am from Liverpool and I manage to get 5ms to London right now. Used to be 11-12ms normally on fast-path, no idea what happened but after that resync its 5ms. When I used to monitor my stats with HG612, only things that I remember were Interleaving of 1 1 and delay of 0. I also used to have different DNS on 2nd and 3rd hops like 217.xx...
Anyway, I suspect a massive amount of ES without G.INP so this may eventually come back to 12ms.. And internet feels really sluggish especially at evenings when SNRm dropped to 4.6dB...
Oh, and by the way my mate gets about 7-8ms to London with Sky 80/20. Nothing special with it imo. 12ms is still a bit high latency to a servers in the same country imo. We are not on dial-ups...
