The maximum recommended length of the DSL cable is 20mtrs (from filter to rear of Hub/Router), otherwise whenever the landline is used the DSL will lose synch. I can personally confirm this to happen, had it a few times.

With those speeds and an Snr of 10.7 you must be on a 40/10 package, with the Snr being higher than 6 that shows you will have an attainable higher than 40, so room for some loss there without it affecting your downstream sync speed. It may slightly affect your upstream speed. Personally I'd give the extension cable a go and see how it performs, you can run it in loose just to test and fit more permanently if happy with the results.

Yeah, my attainable is about 49-50mbps. Really is it gonna affect my upload speed? Up SnR jumps between 6.0-6.3dB depending if it is day or night. I used to have almost 9999 up sync few months ago and it started to drop every time I restarted the router or where there was a power cut. Now I'm on 7300. Strange. I will buy the high quality 8 metres DSL cable and will see how it goes.

Thanks Ronski ;)

I used to have an upstream of around 12, now it's not even 7, and the strange thing is my downstream is the best it's ever been.
