A Kitz Chat Room?
« on: April 15, 2016, 08:21:21 PM »

Hi guys,

With all these new packages and SNR Margin's coming out, things may be a little bit more active at the moment, is there a way I could be allowed to create a chat room for people to join?

In fact, here's one I've just created... Feel free to join! [Subsequently removed by William.]

Tbh I thought forums were a place for people to 'chat and join in' and to seek and offer advice.

You asked if you could be allowed and then just decided to go ahead regardless..

Sorry, please don't take this the wrong way but I wasn't looking for that response, it's only a friendly way for people to talk. I can't see much difference between a forum and a chat room. A chat room is more of a "live" experience.]

Sorry, but this is only a "if people want to" way of socialising.

You are joking....? Right?. I won't for obvious reasons go into the pitfalls of chat rooms but lets just say a young girl is more likely to enter a chat room rather that a broadband forum.Clearly you have different views about the matter so I'll leave it at that.

That's not always true. I've been on a weather forum who have chat rooms that people from that Netweather forum join, there's even a chat room in the forum itself! I see your point but I wouldn't be so presumpative.

We may not, I was only giving people the option if they want to join. Not sure what your point was, case closed.

You should take down your chatroom, or at least change its name. It has no connection with Kitz, so you're using the name inappropriately.

My very thoughts when I read it, Eric. The intention may be good and true, but I think it would be best to gauge opinion first and then ask if it's OK for the 'Kitz' name to be linked with a chat-room (Copyright or otherwise). Rather than ask if you can create a chat-room at 20:21, and actually have a link to one you've just created at 20:22.

FWIW, I'm with Uncle on this, I personally wouldn't use such a function, we seem to muddle through ok as is.  :)

Sorry! The chatroom isn't exactly permanent! Of course it has no connection with, Kitz! It's a seperate website! Please can you show me where I can't use the name? Kitz has no current copyright stated anywhere, maybe you should look into this! >:D

Using the name without permission could well get you banned

I ideally don't want another forum ban. It's all been cleared up, apologies everyone!
