Huge noise in ADSL2+
« on: March 06, 2016, 10:29:46 AM »

Hi, i'm L4ky from Italy.

My line was working well for a few years, i got about 11.5Mbps and 1.05 Mbps upload.
Here are my stats:
SNR Margin (dB)   4.3   5.5
Attenuation (dB)   38.5   18.4

Suddenly, about at 10th January something happened and my adsl couldn't get more than 6.5Mbps !

I unlocked a broadcom router so i could get QLN and HLOG graphs.

I will post Tones allocation, QLN and HLOG when the line was good and then the line is bad.

Tone allocation GOOD:

QLN GOOD:

HLOG GOOD:

Tone allocation BAD:

QLN BAD:

HLOG BAD:

As you can see the GOOD graphs was taken some days ago. The line worked good for about 2 o 3 hours only that day, but after that it got worse.

Could you help me finding the source of this noise?

The ADSL2+ DSLAM is 2.4 Km about from my home, there is just ONE closet between me and the dslam. A isp technician tested at the closet and with golden modem he could get all 11600 Kbps ( max downstram rate, i have 10Mb commercial limit ).

My ISP says "Line was degraded. We can do nothing." they're obviously lazy people who don't want to solve my problem.

EDIT: I noticed i wrote wrong screenshot link. Now they're fixed

L4ky: you attached both good graphs (the same files) for Tone allocation and QLN.

You have huge Radio Frequency Interference or EMI on tones 200-250 (862.5 Khz-1078.125 kHz) and smaller interference on tones 125-175 (539.0625 Khz-754.6875 Khz).

I already read it, but how can i track the source? I have no portable AM radio.. and i should track the source between my home and the closet! ( about 1.2 Km )

Today i made a quick test.

I needed to go out with my car, so i set my car radio to MW at 900KHz.. and as soon as i got to my house gate " BOOM ". A huge noise !
I passed some times to identify the range of this noise and i think it comes from one of the two street lights in front of my house!
They are LED light, about 2 years old..

Since the phone cable are not underground but are "flying" i think something works as antenna and get this noise.

Now i just have to proof this theory and notify this to my town major, so he can call the assistance to fix this problem.

Suggestion to make some valid evidences?
