According to my copy of the "Fact Sheet" dated 2011, PHME 62559 --

Copper Integrated Demand Testing

Copper Integrated Demand Testing (CIDT) is a new enhanced line test capability
that offers big benefits to Openreach and Communications Providers (CPs) alike.
It’s part of a major programme to upgrade our test capability and uses innovative
techniques and analysis on new generation test heads. CIDT vastly improves the
ability to identify and locate problems with end user voice and broadband services.

One other thing to mention is that the link Kitz provided, above, is to a third party site which is not under this site's (or forum's) control.
