WAN and LAN Subnet Overlap when using ECI Modem
« on: June 17, 2016, 06:53:09 PM »

I'm having an issue when I connect the second Ethernet connection on the ECI to an Ethernet port on the router to get to the stats. I've flashed OpenWrt on the ECI modem.

I get a warning that the WAN and LAN subnets are overlapping and may cause disconnection. I've tried various settings but think it best to ask the experts.

My current setup is Router IP 192.168.1.2, with DHCP starting at 192.168.1.3 - 192.168.1.128. Subnet 255.255.240.0
The ECI router for the second Ethernet is setup on 192.168.1.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.255.

Any tips or thoughts?

thanks

Just change both subnet masks to 255.255.255.0
