Thanks for checking this out, but I was under the impression a Low SNR noise margin was a good thing and if you get too many errors the line would drop and the noise margin would then increase and line speed profile would decrease.
Something does not seem right with my connection.

I have been noticed when browsing the internet it is slow and sometimes unresponsive  or even say this web page is unavailable. But when I do speed test they seem ok but I do feel my line is capable or getting the maximum as I live right next to the exchange.
So I do feel BT have set my line speed lower than normal.

Sounds more like slow DNS to me

What is your IP Profile given by http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ ?

Your IP Profile is fine and you're getting good speeds so I don't think speed is a problem.

Not getting the 24000 profile and I have low noise and 6db contention does not match line speed estimation

I note that both your upstream and downstream atten is being reported as 6.9db which could indicate a reporting error by the router.  Downstream should usually be about double the upstream for adsl2+.  They won't be the same.

I wouldn't be too surprised if your downstream atten is actually around 10-12db.
I'm going from memory but I think my upstream atten used to be around 7db.  I used to get 24Mbps at first with a 3db snrm.   That dropped off after a while due to crosstalk.

What distance does the broadband checker give your distance from the exchange as?

I'm not sure whats going on with the reporting of the atten, but being that close and as long as the line doesn't go all round the houses then 6.9db could be about right for the. Downstream.

You should be able to get the full 24Mbps.  The only thing I can think is crosstalk.  Iirc I lost about 3Mbps over the course of a few years on adsl2+ due to crosstalk.  :(
