Actually, I was very friendly with our local police force at the time and some of them were invited, unfortunately most of them could not come because of being on duty.
However, my neighbour across the road "who was most definitely
NOT invited" decided to call the police at 12:00 (midnight) as there was a fireworks display (in September) and complained.
Needles to say, PC plod came along in
TWO riot vans to sort me out because of a report of "bombs" going off.
Instantly stripped of uniform jackets and got stuck into the party, "they were the ones invited in the first place"
I think their report of the incident may have been a little on the exaggerated side, considering the time they all eventually left.
God it was mayhem.
