I would use opendns over google dns.

opendns seems to work better with CDN's.

It would help if knew what a CDN is and have a google explaination but it needs to worded into layman's terms  ;)

A content delivery network or content distribution network (CDN) is a large distributed system of servers deployed in multiple data centers across the Internet. The goal of a CDN is to serve content to end-users with high availability and high performance.

content delivery network.

So basically things like akamai have a global presence but direct users to local nodes for good performance.
Google dns can be a bit whacky e.g. sending eu users to america.
Opendns have worked with CDN providers to get good geo tracking and do have a UK dns server as well for that purpose.

Also opendns as a bonus do malware filtering as well if you want it.

I used to not like opendns as they use to breach rfc by redirecting failed lookups, but now they stopped that practice.

That is good to know. It was exactly that reason -- redirecting failed lookups -- why I rejected making any use of OpenDNS.

Ditto - the reason why I stopped using them.
