Should I have been Visualware curious?
« on: April 29, 2015, 11:05:05 AM »

After reading another thread in which that app was mentioned, I ran it out of my innate curiosity, and the results are in an attachment. Some of them; should they give concern, I wonder.

TCP MTU 1492 whereas DSLStats Telnet Traffic under ifconfig atm01 is 1500;
TCP Receive Stats
Packets not in order 44; Bytes out of order 63888; Bytes lost 1452.

Then there are the three advisories.
Should any of them be of concern to me, and what need I do to mend, please?

Not familiar with this app but not sure how your TCP MTU is being reported so high?

Presumably the "TCP MTU" is the MTU of the PC. The MTU reported under telnet traffic in DSLstats is the MTU of the embedded Linux system in the modem - that's always 1500.

(By the way, the mentioned attachment isn't there.)

Because 'TCP MTU' is nonsense, I would disregard it all :)
