Ah thanks! Phew! Maybe BT will leave my line alone. :)

You probably don't want it Max

Interesting, I saw a decrease in latency when G.INP was enabled, but it has creeped up a bit since yesterday, by only 2ms mind you.

Latency was never a top priority for me line stability was always foremost and with the help of G.INP i can now relax as CRC's and ES's are out of the equation unless something goes very wrong on this line.

There are quite a lot of users with very little errors on there current fastpath profile i doubt G.INP would make much difference to there line but a least it has the added protection from REIN and Shine that's always a good thing  :)

Same here, never been bothered about latency too much

Those of us on aa seem to have a different view   :-[

Hopefully bt might allow some profile changes / options in the near future to accommodate end user preferences. :)

Is it true that G.INP roll out for all Huawei cabinets roll out will be completed by end of this month then the next roll out for all the remaining ECI cabinets from April until end of June this year?

Seems that noise bursts do cause a spike in latency

Most direct evidence on here suggests that G.INP activation (from a line where DLM had intervened) causes a decrease in latency.

Discussions elsewhere - seem to focus on the fact that this extra latency only happens when the modem runs old firmware that is incompatible with G.INP. The modem then resorts to a latency-rich setup, but (to an ISP) it doesn't look like DLM has ordered it.

yes errors will now give jitter (or sustained latency if they are sustained)

for people with stable fast path lines g.inp might be seen as a hindrance, on the other hand if error rate is low then jitter from errors should also be low.  It does seem tho based on aaisp's complaint and ignition's post on tbb some people are been stuck with consistent increased latency.

Is there anywhere I can check to find out whether my cabinet is Huawei?  Using Telnet it tells me the DSLAM chipset is Broadcom and the VDSL Firmware version is 05-04-08-00-00-06.  I'm currently using a Draytek 2760, although I do have a locked Huawei.

I'm guessing the ISP could tell me if they were so inclined.

I was GINPed this morning at about 6:30am. Slight increase in SNRM (line is capped 80/20), no increase in latency. No non-FEC errors whatsoever since then. Stats are on MDWS.

Ouch! An increase in latency by 15ms? With that BT may as well just stick everyone on a profile with a delay of 16ms and an INP of something like 3 lol (traditional error correction of course). Should result in little loss in overhead. Well hopefully BT will make some adjustments to relieve this kind of impact, unless of course those lines seeing a 15ms~ increase in latency are actually getting a lot of errors.

The Broadcom chipset means that the cabinet is Huawei.

Thanks.  I thought that might be the case but couldn't be sure.  If that is the case then going by reports, I should be G.INP enabled by the end of next week.  Presumably vectoring comes later.
