Nope phone is fine, no noise at all.

ES and CRC seem to be dropping, but it's still resyncing every 10 - 15 minutes

EDIT: Spoke to soon, CRC are still stupidly high.

CRC: 1952 5

If I were you I would raise this as a fault, as a resync every 15 minutes is not right :-\

I have one ongoing, going to call Plusnet in the morning, but I'm not sure where the fault lies as Openreach didn't find any faults on the line, which makes me think it's something to do with plusnet's routing since earlier today (before the drops etc) ping was great, speeds were great and it didn't seem to be resyncing. (plusnet couldnt see any drops their end)

Quick update, still resyncing every 5-10 minutes and also affecting the phone now.

DLM hasn't touched my line, in fact my IP profile has gone up from 39.9 to 40.82  :-\ referred it back to plusnet, looks like another OR engineer i going to be sent out but chances are they still aren't going to find a fault

You need to log some stats and show them to the engineer as this needs resolving although I would think they'd find something.

Going to start collecting stats tonight, however I think it's the wind that's caused this (it's been really bad up here recently) as the wind died down this evening and I've noticed a massive improvement on my graph...

However I'm thinking this still needs to be sorted, sounds like there's a loose connection maybe to the pole or something?

Could be very possible, I once had rain cause intermittent faults on the line which were difficult to track down. Worth pursuing Plusnet with this one, and a log of stats will be good (especially) through any wind.

Yeah it still needs fixing, but it looks way better since the wind died down  ;D

Issues back today, same time as the wind has picked back up so Openreach are coming out again tomorrow. This time Plusnet's line test failed due to too many errors in the testing time frame so at least that's picked up an issues finally but I'm confident OR won't pick it up when they attend and do their tests.

Plusnet have said on the notes it coincides with wind (Not sure what notes the engineer sees) any idea how they will try and diagnose this? Is it a case of moving the line with a big pole while someone listens for noise on the phone?  ;D Maybe Black Sheep can shed some light if he stumbles across this....  :)

Quick update for anyone who's still reading  ;)

Openreach attended for about 5 hours yesterday, replaced the NTE, swapped me to another pair, replaced the connectors in the box at the bottom of the pole and apparently removed some moisture from a box (I think at the top of the pole)

Seems to have done the trick, the only problem is he didn't reset the DLM before he left, so after all the disconnecting he did caused me to drop from 42 to 35Meg and 835 interleaving depth. However this has come up a bit overnight, 35Mbps and interleaving has dropped to 601, and only 9 CRC errors in the last 2 and a half hours of sync (This could be cause interleaving is on though)

Glad that you got it sorted.   Thank you for letting us know.   Hopefully the DLM will soon relent and things will be back as they should :)

Hopefully :) Looks like it's showing 44meg as the max which is the highest I've seen since it dropped from the original 48 on install, so I'm hoping it will get back to the 39.9 it was at before  ;D

It was like getting blood out of a stone trying to get the OR guy to look at it further, no faults showing up on his tests but while he was telling us there was no problems it dropped, which I'm so glad it did as it proved to him there was a fault somewhere, he pretty much said we must be lying and made us feel guilty saying it goes against him when we keep getting him out etc

But it appears to have been worth it :)

Just a warning that the max of 44 may be a tad optimistic.    Your downstream is interleaved and because of error correction overheads it can skew the max attainable rate calculation performed by most of the FTTC modems.  There should be a bit more in that line though once the DLM has sorted itself out.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the heads up, I'm on the up to 40 package anyway since I couldn't justify the extra cost for an extra couple of meg, so if it gets back to 40 I'll be happy  ;D
