RESYNCS
« on: December 19, 2014, 11:21:30 PM »

Having had my line sync capped at 26000 kbps for two weeks and decided to let go my line seems to be resyncing a lot this is the 5th time in under 24 hours  :o

Just to add more info the RFI in the two effected bands seem to be causing less impact on the tones, have noticed my attainable is not swinging so much in the past few days.

That's about the same tones I have sometimes had some interference on too, interesting.

yeah looks a mess, if you no longer care about trying to get fast path but want to stop the disconnects I would try capping to somewhere between 29-30, just give it enough extra snrm to be stable.

Yes indeed Chry was thinking of capping it to 29, It's kind of odd this whilst checking out plusnet as a possible ISP there quote was dead on 31000 kbps, but as you can see with this RFI thing going each evening it won't be very steady at that rate  :(

I wonder if any members can help with the --maxdatarate am trying to set the DS sync to 29000 kbps but when using xdslcmd configure --maxDataRate 29000 6250 34000 the DS sync keeps going down to 27748 kbps  ???

I wonder . . .

34000 - 6250 = 27750

34000 - 29000 = 5000

What is the result when using --

xdslcmd configure --maxDataRate 29000 5000 34000

You should try --maxDataRate 29000 6250 100000 .  The third value can be any value higher than the sum the first two in your case 40000 would be equally fine.  If that does not work the speed is being limited by snrm or the dslam.

The result of the downstream is now 28995 kbps and the upstream is now 4999 kbps
but would like the upstream to stay at 6200 Kbps is there away to set this up.

I see now the third value makes all the difference  :)
will execute the calculator and find a value that suits my line.

Right to get a DS sync of 29000kbps and a US sync of 6250kbps the third value will need to be set at 35250kbps.

I thought the third value was the Max Attainable sync but it's actually the aggregate of both DS and US  just glad i understand it now and will of course wait another 30 minutes before the next forced sync  :scare:
