During a recent prowl around the items available for auction, two Spirent xDSL Testers were noticed --

The first is an E2740 and the second is an E2570. A quick search for information turned up the following --

The E-Series of single-function copper analysis testers perform TDR,
RFL, and other copper fault analysis. The following products are
available online now:

technicians to install and troubleshoot ADSL services at various
points in the network and enables technicians to verify service

From that minimum of information, it appears that the Spirent E2570 would be the more desirable of the two items.

As we already have the equipment to perform Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), Resistive Fault Location (RFL), etc, neither Walter, Bald_Eagle1 nor I will be making a bid.

In all seriousness, I did mention this thread to Konrado in a PM. The E2570 appears to be just the type of device that would allow him to quantify the metrics of his own circuit.
