Ouch!!!! Umm would that be classed as an excessive charge?
I thought OFCOM were meant to have brought in a rule whereby an ISP could only recover a 'reasonable amount' of charges for early termination of contract. They did this at the same time as they banned rolling contracts and made the maximum term for a (new) contract = 2yrs Reasonable is supposed to cover any charges that the ISP has had to pay out such as BT install costs or cost of router. With you Eclipse havent had to fork out anything because youve been on the same product for so long.
Im sorry Ive no idea what the caps are for 'reasonable/excessive' charge is.. but I seem to recall a figure of something like £70 mentioned at one point by ofcom, but Im not certain so dont quote me.
