My Zoe is 1 too and already shes bigger and lankier than Ziggy and tries to get the upper-hand, but Zigs still manages to regain his position of top cat when it comes to the top tier of the cat tree.   I should video that sometime it hilarious to watch.  They are still best of friends and go tear-arsing round the house taking it in turns to play tig.  If Zigs cant find her he calls out for her, and if she gets separated from him (such as being accidentally locked into another room) then she will go frantic trying to get to him. 
They also sleep together and spend hours groom each other - I wouldnt be without either of them.
