Thank you for reply.

Looking at that region of the SNR graph, we see nothing above 0 dB.
Because my router shows SNR 0 dB at unused tones. Sometimes my router doesn't use 410 tone, sometimes use. If my router doesn't use 410 tone I have 0 dB on 410 tone.

Perhaps the tones, corresponding to that frequency band, are not used by xDSL services in Poland?
So far as I know these tones are used in Poland. So far as I know nobody broadcast amateur radio in my town. Besides, nearly these tones I have the most stable SNR.

I've reported this issue to my ISP some months ago, hovever they said me: this SNR graph is normal on ADSL2+ long lines.

Quote from: burakkucat
Looking at that region of the Qln graph, it is so low and flat (compared to the rest of the plot) that it makes me wonder if the receive circuitry of the modem is actually operational over those tones?
Is it possible this is caused by my router fault?

Perhaps text datas will be helpful.

Re: PSD masks-disabled tone?
« Reply #32 on: February 16, 2014, 11:28:31 PM »

Taking copies of the raw data that you have provided and examining it convinces me that, for the 1.8 - 2.0 MHz frequency band, either there is no signal input to the modem's receive circuitry or that modem's receive circuitry is held in a muted state.

Plotting the three graphs (attached below) allows me to see that data in graphs of my own making.  ;)

I really do not know what else to say!  ::)

Is it possible on DSLAM there are very specific PSD masks that 410-477 tones have very low power output (sometimes tone 410 and 477 enabled)?

It does not show a smooth decay versus frequency that we would normally expect to see. The undulations may be the result of impedance mismatch, where different sections of cable (of different characteristics) have been joined together.
How report it to my ISP?

Best regards

I had considered that option but discounted it. Why? Look at the Qln graph. For those tones, the graph is registering nothing. No signal, no real noise. Hence my proposal that the modem's receiver is muted rather than attenuation of the DSLAM's transmitter with a PSD mask.

It does not show a smooth decay versus frequency that we would normally expect to see. The undulations may be the result of impedance mismatch, where different sections of cable (of different characteristics) have been joined together.
How report it to my ISP?

What I have proposed is just a suggestion. I do not know, for sure. In all seriousness, I do not think it is worth reporting. They might just say to you "That is normal for telephone circuits in Poland."

burakkcucat: As far I understood you, I should buy new router. Is my router damaged? However, I've noticed my QLN is -145 both for eg. 415 tone and 500 tone, however on 500 tone I have SNR 30.2500 and 7 bits. QLN graph register similarly even for end used tones.

The thing is konrado, no-one knows for sure.
Yes there are some oddities in your line, but not anything that we can point to and say "The problem is xxxx"  Most lines will have some quirks or other yet the line functions pretty well.

Weve made suggestions in the past about the router, but even if you get another there is going to be no guarantee.

We also made suggestions about the doorbell since you say youve noticed HECs when it coincides with it being rung, yet you say you cant move the cable because it will cause pock marks in the wall.

I think weve just about exhausted all what we can do or say, and I agree with b*cat that the ISP is likely to say its normal operation of the line. :(

kitz: Thank you for reply. Could you recommend any other forum on which someone could say me something more on the basis of QLN, Hlog?

Do you changed your believe after barukkcat analised my QLN? You said me that probably amateur radio interfere with my ADSL connection.

Do you believe my doorbell interfere with my ADSL connection even when nobody rings?

Perhaps following screenshot will be helpful. I have this connection from 33 days. Errored seconds per 12 hours is 50-90. SNR margin is 3.3-4.2 dB (rarely ever 4.8 dB). I have fast path, no impulse noise protection.

What issues can be caused by this? Is it possible it is related only to my home installation?

I think about buying new router. What do you think about Negear DGN2200? Is it good to monitor statistics?

I have one, and I found its performance very poor. Also, monitoring the statistics is problematic, because you have to run a special Netgear program to enable the telnet interface, and this seems to be unreliable.

It's difficult to recommend a 'best' modem/router, because performance varies so much on different lines. But my personal favourite (by a long distance) is the Billion 7800DXL. This is an expensive model, but I find it to be very fast and very stable, and it has more features than any other model which I've seen. It has a modern Broadcom DSL chip, and comprehensive monitoring by the telnet interface is available.

All this is of course only my personal opinion.
