Thought I'd post this here in case anyone is interested, and so that it might get picked up by someone Googling for a bit of info.
This has irked me for a while - when you click the "reboot" button on the web interface for the HG533 router, as supplied by TalkTalk, it goes through the motions of rebooting - presents you with a red text screen telling you to wait for 2 minutes etc, then appears to come back to life, seemingly rebooted.
But when you log back in to the interface, if you look at the uptime statistics - nothing has changed. It didn't actually reboot, and stayed in synch the whole time.
After that little pretence, if you THEN click the reboot button, it will perform a full reboot and resynch, as you expected the first time around.
So, owners of the Huawei HG533 version 1.14t (might affect other versions?) who want to reboot - the first "reboot" is usually a false reboot. Do it twice, or just power it down.
nb. I have occasionally seen it properly reboot on the first attempt. But usually it doesn't.
