Glad you didn't get too miffed.
On a serious point I wouldn't even try myself as I've never seen a backlit screen that was useable in bright sunlight, I'd assume some shading would be needed.
And, dare I say it, as one gets older (I'm technically a "silver surfer" myself) the eyes are definitely less tolerant of glare. There's a good reason for this to do with changes in the eye with advancing
years experience.
The only screen that DOES work well is the Kindle, but that's obviously a very different "kettle of fish" entirely.
