All Creatures Great And Small

The dog got its walk in the woods this evening and encountered a menage of creatures, some more cuddly than others!

I am reminded of this

Bwhaha!  Never seen that before!  Sadly I was too young to remember Monty Python first time around (had to be in bed - "wasn't suitable"!)  And still not allowed to watch TV in my bedroom after 9pm :(   Mum says she might relax the rules when I'm 40!   :D

"Putrid, foul and gangrenous . . . ", ah yes, I remember it well.  ;)

Now stored in my "WhatNot", somewhere within The Cattery, I have a copy of the Monty Python Sings CD. Must make a point of listening to it again.  :D

Each to his own *sniff!*   All the same,  better keep the location secret, otherwise we will be invaded by hordes of Frenchmen, looking for a bit of leg!

Supermarket critics are for ever claiming that fruit in Tesco, shrink-wrapped in poly-trays, is not Real Fruit, But maybe that's no bad thing!

That's a privet hawk moth caterpillar, I do believe. A beautiful creature, though I must admit that I'd think twice about eating the apple. ;D

Aha!  Thanks Eric.  First time I've ever seen one.  At first glance it look like a rolled up leaf!  Timely reminder to always wash fruit before eating it!

I was just about to test some VDSL2 modems to discover which devices send a Dying Gasp message on power loss.

When suddenly this revolting bug flew through the open window, launched a kamikaze attack on the overhead light and then landed stunned on the desk!

It was swiftly flicked out of the window but five minutes later it flew back in again!  Daft female, obviously! Attracted by my pheromones, naturally! Yes, that'll be it!

According to wikipedia, it's a cockchafer "colloquially called a May Bug, Mitchamador, Billy Witch, or Spang Beetle."   Eugh!

cheers, a

I think it's rather lovely. :)  Look at those antennae! They've got seven 'fingers' so it's a male (the female only has six).
