F3L900CP1.8MWHS Modem Cable: can it be true?

(1/2) > >>

This is what several sites say. Is my scepticism unjustified? over 1.8m surely it would make Fanny Adams' difference.

--- Quote ---The High-Speed Internet Modem Cable from Belkin lets you transmit data 10 times faster than a normal telephone cable. It transfers information at 100 Mbps and conveniently connects your modem or phone to your telephone wall jack. The 24 k gold-plated RJ11 contacts provide maximum conductivity to minimize data loss, and double-shielding reduces EMI/RFI (electromagnetic/radio frequency interference) so you can enjoy error-free data transfers at high speeds.

I agree with b*cat - absolute nonsense. It may well be a good cable which will have better performance than the bog-standard cable supplied with the modem/router, but the practical difference (if any) will be small.

And it's not third party blurb. Similar comes from Belkin UK site

Belkin has a track record for posting Deceptive Opinion Spam. [1] [2]

The Hi-Fi magazines are full of bogus adverts that are dressed up as impartial 'reviews'.

A magazine review of a very expensive TOSLink cable claimed that it produced an altogether sweeter sound... true tonal depth and ideal clarity..even and precise intonation...ease in blending...

oh dear!

cheers, a
