Can it (2012) get any worse
« on: January 09, 2012, 09:55:03 AM »

After Sues heart problems at the start of the new year,it was my turn yesterday,I was rushed into hospital yesterday morning with breathing problems.

It was another atrial fibrillation attack, the same that I suffered back in June of last year,my heart rate was all over the place..up to 173,then next second down to under 100.BP at this point was ok but then it dropped  to 83/60,I felt quite poorly at this point.

After numerous tests and getting everything back into rhythm I was allowed home late yesterday.Feel quite drained today but otherwise no to bad.

I am wondering if being put on Warfarin might have had something to do with it,I have only been taking them 3 days and felt ok before I started with them.
Could be just a coincidence but will have to discuss it with my GP(if I can ever manage to get an appointment

Sorry to hear of your attack UncleUB.  :flower:
By the looks of the last line of your posting your GP surgery looks like the way they all seem to be going. They want you on their list but don't want you in the surgery.
Take care and if you didn't already know take it easy. ;)

Tell the surgery that as they can't give you an appointment you need the GP to make a house call today...... bet you get something PDQ then.

Adrian has said it seconds minutes before me - you are too ill to attend the surgery, so request an urgent house-call.  After all, their income is dependent on mileage claims too.

Phil, do take care and take it easy - put your feet up and get better.   :flower: :flower:

After numerous attempts to get through I was told to ring after 4pm when more appointments are released...what a system that is  >:(

And our Dr's contact is an 0845 number  >:(

I did think about a home visit, but then thought there are more needy cases than me,although saying that I bet there are some very un needy cases who actually call the Dr out.

:o Unc  ....I've only just arrived today ...and shocked to read this.   As has already been said, demand a house call from your GP.     Were the hospital aware that you have recently started taking Warfarin ?    I'm not sure how the UK system works now, but if you are worried and can't get the GP immediately, could you perhaps contact the hospital doctor ?      PLEASE take it easy....   :flower:     Kate

I only just got to see this, but I echo what the others have said, Phil. Your GP needs to visit you soon. Take care.

They are not suposed  to be using 084 numbers and  if they are the cost to the patient should be no more than a geographic call.

I would have insited to speak to doctor on the phone or the practice manager.
