A Significant Downstream Throughput Gain
« on: July 29, 2011, 07:11:46 PM »

Intended more as a passing comment in another thread, b*cat mentioned that he would -- when he "got a round tuit" -- replace the current BT80A between his incoming drop-wire and the internal CW1308 spec. cable with a BT80B-RF3.

So earlier today I took 50 minutes to perform that 5 minute task. :D All is now connected just as if a "proper man" had done the job and the result was immediately apparent in my downstream throughput.

Date                   Day    Downstream    Upstream

28/07/11 16:42    Thu    3584 Kbps       775 Kbps
29/07/11 14:51    Fri      4414 Kbps       775 Kbps

Here follows some statistics from my Netgear DG834Gv5.
