Kimi told me there was a power cut on the road that the exchange was on yesterday at the same time as the connections went down, which is probably what triggered it off.
A friend told me his phone went off too.. (he's on LLU), but I didnt notice any problem with my phone - checking the dial tone was one of the first things I checked when I found I had no sync.
One of "those days" eh? what with loosing my nettage and the site going down this am.
Something good has come out of the outage though.. looking at my connection this morning its also cleared a BT routing and latency problem thats been bugging me for the past month or so.
Latency to the beeb should normally be around 14-15ms.. but for the past couple of months its been up around 30ms - gawd knows what routing BT must have been doing because when on RIN I could see it was taking about 20ms just to get to the RAS.
Anyhow touch wood, this morning latency is at 13ms to the beeb which from way oop norf is pretty damn good.
