System Restore troubles
« on: December 13, 2010, 02:29:56 PM »

64 bit Home Premium

I made three attempts to restore system to an earlier date, two in normal mode and one in safe mode. None completed successfully. Could I have done something wrong with the safe mode method?

I then turned of the computer but when I rebooted normally the screen was different. Here is part of Kitz for illustration, so can anyone tell me what to do both to get a normal screen and successful sys rec? I feel confused as I've managed the latter before.

Have you disabled your anti virus before trying a system restore ?  This can cause interference I think.   :)

Can you get into safe mode, and then try the "last known good configuration" option ?

Do you have an installation disc or a boot disc ?

Sorry about not coming back! :-[

In the end found it was either the FW or AV that caused the problem.

Thanks.
