Mozilla Firefox + Shockwave Plug-in
« on: August 03, 2007, 01:29:23 PM »

Greetings All,

After much browser browsing (?) and because a lot of people recommend it, I switched to Firefox as my default browser.  I'm having loads of fun  ;D, but my eldest offspring is complaining  :'( as it is not playing some of the web games he's using.  Whilst they work in IE and BT Yahoo browser, they're not working in Firefox.

It [Firefox] says it's missing the Shockwave plug-in, so we download and install the shockwave plug-in (from the Adobe web site), restart Ff and the PC but still no joy.

Can anyone out there in Technoland help?

TIA

I dont have Shockwave in FF either but found the download page.

http://www.adobe.com/go/getshockwaveplayer

On this page I choose download it prompts me to download a file "Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe".

Will give this a run and see if it works for me...

I closed down FF main window and the downloads window and installed.

In the Mozzila Firefox\plugins directory a file with shockwave it has appeared and when I found a site with a Shockwave game it is loading up fine. Have checked by right clicking the game/thing and it says "about shockwave player".
