Acronis True Image 2010
« on: November 28, 2009, 10:36:25 AM »

Hiya gang,

I have just received an invitation to upgrade to Acronis True Image 2010. I have been using a previous version of the product for the past several months, and apart from some initial 'getting going' problems have found it to do exactly waht it says on the tin.

Howevee, I seem to remember reading somewhere (I thought it was on here somewhere) soem adverse comments about the new version. Does anyone know of any potential problems with the new version of the product ?

Thanks for any and all responses

My only question would be is:
Does your older version work?
Does your older version do what you want it to do?

Although I do try lots of different programs (just for the fun of it) I often find that sometimes more often than not the older version is either actually better or there does not seem to be any difference whatsoever except for being a larger program.

To name just three such programs:
1. Norton (Ghost and Works)
2. ConvertXtoDVD (v4 takes 2x longer than v3)
3. Ad-aware

Although sometimes what seems to make a older program better is that we have simply gotten used to how it works and what to press when needs-be.

Hiya OF,

In answer to your 2 questions - YES.

Maybe I'll stick with the old version - I just had this feeling that I had read somewhere that some kind of problem existed with the 2010 version, but maybe I just dreamed it.

Thanks for your thoughts, though.

In answer to your 2 questions - YES.

Not wanting to take this OT, but

The reason is, it now takes twice as long "if" the setting to do "2 passes" instead of one is activated, which is "supposed to create a better movie" personally I have not noticed any difference. (except the time that is)
