Netgear DG834 Date bug

I've just discovered that the Netgear DG834 has a bug in its firmware such that when a log is e-mailed from the router, the month is incorrect from July to December - it puts the next month rather than the current one in the e-mail header. Thus you will get on August 31st "September 31st" !! .. etc. In December you get "null".
This applies to V2 & v3 with the latest firmwares.
Anyone know if this can be corrected.

I dont have a Netgear so cant comment on that bit Im afraid.

If theres a bug in the actual firmware then the best bet would possibly be advising Netgear support so they can get a fix out for the nexr firmware version.

Hey there Kitz!  ;)

thought I'd join your forums !

As you know I have the Netgear model you talk of........But I don't bother with the emails of logs.  ???
When I get time I will enable it and take a look at this date bug, see if anything can be changed.
I shall post my findings as and when .

hi canon

i've heard of loads and loads of people with your problems with the date on that router.

dozens of people have contacted netgear about it but have come up against a brick wall.  they all had updated firmware and been thru all diags with netgear but they couldnt come up with a solution and ref'd it to their 2nd/3rd level but no one heard anything back.

there was 1 chap who spoke to netgear support in the US who couldnt fix it but arranged for replacement router to be sent.  when it was received it had the ver 3 firmware on it (the same as his old 1) but the log email had the correct date.

if u have any warranty, try and get it replaced.

Thanks for the responses.
The guy on the Pegasus mail list who first told me about this said he'd contacted Netgear a couple of years aga and got nowhere.
I'll just live with it - it's not vital as the correct date is shown with in the e-mail body.
