Are my mathematics correct
« on: September 20, 2009, 12:44:08 PM »

Hi all,
I recently got a new motherboard and case in the hope of overclocking my CPU with better cooling prospects thrown in. The main reason why this involves maths is that I wanted a second opinion on this.

DDR2 667Mhz = 333Mhz x 2

Intel FSB's are quad pumped right ??

So 200FSB = 800 and 266 = 1066 right ??

So 1333 divided by four equals 333Mhz give or take a few right ??

So if I overclocked my CPU to 1333Mhz FSB (333Mhz) my FSB to DRAM ratio will be 1:1 right.

So 333 x 8 = 2.664Mhz. Because my multiplier is 8x

The best way I have found for 'overclocking' is to make small increases at a time because you will get to a point when it just becomes unstable and odd things start to happen or it will no just boot.
