Symantec said the big rise in malicious websites revolved around a resurgence in using images containing injected scripts such as JavaScript or VBScript, attempting to exploit flaws in older browsers.

I can well believe that too.  I was searching for something yesterday and the 2nd and 3rd results on google where both infected with JS:Agent-CK  ???

There was something on QI the other week about 80% of internet traffic being spam... I'm not one to normally doubt the wisdom of Stephen Fry, but that figure does seem a bit high.

For most average Internet Service Providers and networks in North America, Europe or Australasia, today's incoming email traffic consists of approximately 90% spam and 10% normal legitimate email.

Source Spamhaus.

From my own records

Email received 11554
Spam Filtered 11332
Spam as % 98

and that doesnt include a couple of email addresses I have which are now automatically blackholed and wont be in that count.

I can believe that figure purely for email, but the suggestion was that 80% of overall internet traffic was spam related.
