Yes this was an April Fool joke.

Im guilty as charged re AF.DMT (April Fool)  and Ms Avril Jolly was fictitious.  Chris did a grand job with the photo-shopped "dual core router".
We did wonder if someone would query the dual core and why it actually needed 2 chips.. but dual core router had a ring about it that dual chips didnt. :D

Unfortunately the technology isnt possible because there wouldnt be a return path.. but aside from that it would be so cool if you really could send the signal down each wire and double your speeds.

Hope you enjoyed it too... because we had a few giggles when making it. :)
It was intended as a technical joke.. along the lines of the infamous Google Toilet broadband april fool.

Heh - I still want a dual core router :D

Maybe they should make the TG585v7 dual core... so that when it dies... the other chip can take over

...yeah I know... I'm on my way to the NC as we speak :P

lol jid.

Sending a new router out is one of their stock solutions (that and tweaking their DLM)
I wonder how much it costs them to send out routers that arent really the cause of the problem - anything to avoid the obvious.

I was thinking hang on a mo that shouldn't work because of the attenua ............Date

Hook line and sinker

( some years ago was going to do a line for anglian news, wasn't long after the mamoth was exposed in the cliffs on the norfolk coast. The idea was to arrange a dig in front of the news cameras of strange bones which was quite obviously a telly tubby. Was rulled out in case it could upset some children, wasn't that long after the "dead rabbit" incident either )

They also said they have put me on a Dual core profile to allow the changes to be seen !

"It's really quite simple," says Avril Jolly

As soon as I read that I knew it was a wind-up (but a good one).
