Hi Tommy

Those line stats look very good to me
cant see anything wrong and not a lot else I can say :)

The only tiny thing I do notice is that your attenuation is 15dB which is possibly a bit higher than I would expect for someone living only 460m away from the exchange...  its more indicative of around just over 1km..  but this could possibly be down to the routing  BT have laid the cables to your home.
Its still good though and Im sure that many would literally kill for stats like that :)

Thank you Kitz for the reply. ;D

I actually assumed they were acceptable but, my downstream is between 3.5 and 5.5/upstream around 360.

I was thinking possibly with the stats I have, would expect downstream to be something in the region of 6.5 to 7.0

Would I be right in thinking with the attenuation being slightly higher this would be limiting the downstream.

Did a line test 17070. No noise whatsoever.

Thanks again :)

>> my downstream is between 3.5 and 5.5/upstream around 360.

Im presuming you mean the speeds you are getting?

Its nothing to do with your attenuation Im afraid...  on those stats youre well capable of more than 8Mb on adsl2+

Upstream seems about correct..
Downstream.. that depends on contention and how many others are using their connection at the same time.

When I first got maxed I saw 7Mb offpeak.. and about 5Mb during peak time...  those speeds gradually reduced until a couple of months ago, they were nearer 2Mb at peak.
Bt recently upgraded my exchange and now Im getting about 7Mb off peak 5-6Mb peak.

Have a read of this
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/acceptablespeeds.htm

and also this
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/slowspeeds.htm
under the bit about exchange congestion :(

Theres also a link in there to an exchange checker where you can see if your exchange has any reported problems and any fix dates.
