Well have now got the DSL-2740B and must say it has done wonders, for both ADSL and WiFi!

ADSL SNR Margin is now not going mad anymore! Keeping at a stable rate so that is great!

Also, Wireless N is great in my house, can use wireless anywhere now, even in places I couldn't before, as well as in the garden on my iPod Touch!

Overall I am very pleased with the router and many thanks to Azzaka on your advice regarding chipsets, most appreciated :)

Cheers

Hi Jamie,

You are more than welcome. Advise should always be free, i cost and choice. Let me know how the modem goes on your line. So far it sounds like a a nice stable choice.

Kindest Regards,

Hi Leo

Well yes and no really  ???

Have a read of this thread:-

You will see that my line most likely has interference on it somewhere and picks up millions of FEC errors in short spaces of time.

Hi Leo,

Just to say thanks for your advice regarding chipsets as I now have the best speeds ever since December 07

As you can see from my sig, 6.1meg isn't bad!

Many Thanks and Kind Regards

Looking much better jid. From what I recall your gap prior to finding a problem with the internal wiring was much wider than that.

However it is still there - was it the sky box?  If so - just a suggestion..  Have you tried 2 filters in the sky box?

I unplugged the upstairs phone last Sunday and the gap got smaller so I will be checking that filter and things tomorrow when no one else will need to use the phone.

I have adjusted the placement of the filter on the extensikon going into the back room where the phone and Sky box is

As you can see from that pic, the filter was at the other end of the extension off that splitter.

Overall all of the gaps are much much smaller so that is an improvement.
