Ok i know you could tell interleaving was off by looking at the FEC, is it off? I cnnot remember what it had to be...

But what about those other errors? those ok??? i've seen a guy with 0 errors "up" on all  except FEC maybe.

Also i need the BE username and Pass to login since i want to use a Netgrear router at somepoint, are those within the modem (if so how do i get them) or are they the settings i set when i signed up with BE?

FEC errors indicate the line has interleaving applied.

Strange that the FEC and CRC are exactly the same.. .  Ive noticed with my own connection that the upstream errors dont always clear and continue to rack up.

So any FEC errors on either up or down means i'm on interleaved?, i thought it might be just down.

erm... Yes...  Good point!   :-[

Ive just had a quick browse around and noticed that on several Be connections, the upstream CRC's and FECs record exactly the same.

My own line which isnt interleaved shows
FEC Errors (Up/Down):   0 / 0

I wonder why that is..

Anyway i switched to my netgear router, thanks for help there! My ping went down from 30 to 15-16, and it does load quicker into the games i play.

I then tested for interleaving as shown by your guide for netgear routers, it is definatly off.

Thank You!

I'm not sure.

I do however think there is something on the Be MSANs which retain a record up the upstream errors. I spent a long time looking into how to try clear these stats on the ST routers and nothing seemed to work.

It wasnt until I put a Netgear DG834GT on my own line that I noticed that the upstream error counts had been carried across to the Netgear router too, therefore the count must be being retained somewhere by Be's equipment.
