Ive mentioned to John (the author of routerstats) about the "3" before now, as it occured quite often for me when logging the downstream SNR on a ST585v6.
I'm currently test driving a ST585v7..  and I have the 3 problem with my upstream sync figure for some reason.

Johns reply was along the lines of that routerstats can sometimes "loose its place" if there is a big shift over a short period of time.
Looking at the source for the ST's theres a lot of colspan='3' and I wonder if this is where its picking it up from.

That's an interesting comment, because during the night, Rx FEC plunged to 3 then a few minutes later re-configured itself and commenced recording accurately until the next occurrence but then didn't reconfigure itself. Also at the moment (last evening and night) the O2 TG585v7 racke up several 10,000s of FEC error in a short time. Currently it's showing 2,590,000 on an uptime of 2 days 3h 47m

Edit (added comment) :

Is this what you mean re. "Source" = <tr><td height='7' colspan='4'><img src='/images/spacer.gif' width='1' height='7' border='0' alt=''></td></tr>
<tr><td width='170'>FEC Errors (Up/Down):</td><td colspan='3'>463 / 2,598,410</td></tr>   ??......if so there's also a lot of colspan= '4'. Surely this coding relates to the page layout of Routerstats ?

Yep thats it... and yes it does relate to the page layout...  The ones where I'd seen the problem occur normally had a colspan 3 in front of that particular figure that looses its place.
Routerstats reads the html from the page and tries to "find" a particular spot...  It was my own assumption (which could be wrong because Im putting 2+2 together from what John said) that when it does loose its place it for some reason picks up the 3 figure from the colspan.

I think you are correct.

The RxSNR has been fluctuating this morning (it's raining :'() and it drops to 3 before returning to 7. This has happened several times but on each occasion it has only been down as far as 3 and no further.

yes likewise - Ive seen same here with the "3" for the SNRM.  During some bad thunderstorms earlier on this year I thought my line was holding remarkably well at a rock steady 3dB (My default Be profile), but in actual fact it wasnt until I noticed the figures in the web interface... that things werent quite as steady as I thought.   :D

Kitz :

After much testing and many emails between John and myself, I think he has conceded that O2's version of the Thomson router, TG585v7, will not work with any Routerstats version except Lite.

We got to v4.6a and John said "Win some. Lose some."  :(

Hi oranged was it just the FECs that you were having probs with?

Ive just this min swapped out my router and put the ST585v7 on.  I then grabbed a copy of routerstats 4.6b and configured it.

I had a bit of problem for it finding my upstream sync - I though oh perhaps it doesnt like 2.5Mb..  but then all of a sudden it worked.
It doesnt seem to be logging my (CRC) errors though.

----------
edit to add
- now have it logging CRCs.  I tried including the whitespace after the / and before the number... and it started working.

..........  and Ive now got DMT up and running

Im not using a "Be/02" Box though - its a new bog standard Speedtouch 585v7 running firmware 7.4.4.7
I had to faff about a bit to get it to work on Be since by default it wont allow Routed EthoA

Firmware hasnt got the SNR tweak commands.

I'm not aware of 4.6b.......John conceded defeat at 4.6a so I haven't bothered since. Comparing the O2 router stats, Lite logs and the 4.5 logs, it was obvious that 4.5 was logging unsafe data.

I think it's the firmware in O2's TG585v7 that beats DMT & Routerstats.....O2 do not like users manipulating the router settings....which is fair enough.

I'll check out the latest version and let you know.

I've been running Lite since October 1st and it seems to have logged SNR and speed accurately.....I have a router uptime of 12 days 5 hours.

I've just downloaded 4.6b and I'm getting the same error on set up as I did with 4.6a.

When I come to set the log parameters, click on GetPage and error "HTTP/1.0 401 Authorization Required" is displayed. I've double checked (again) the router URL, userid and password.

It's only happened with these 2 versions and John could not explain because he had made no changes to the configuration page.

No, it would not allow Get Page....it errored ""HTTP/1.0 401 Authorization Required". I tried all the tick box variations but neither 4.6a nor 4.6b will allow me the Get Page selection......very strange because previous versions were OK. This is what baffled John.

Would logging in as a superuser help at all?  There's more about this on the Be forum.

Done already  :).....no, it must be a coding problem which John, the creator of Routerstats, is unable to edit so that TG585v7 is compatible....it must be a conflict between O2 firmware and Routerstats. Other Thomson 585v? are compatible so it really does centre on O2.
