Mine is about right at 71.32Mbps /16.94Mbps.

Wonder if its just one of them that is messed up.   I know they have at least 3 locations for the speedtester.

It's very common to get crazy high results with Firefox.
It's a known issue, been like that for months.

Must be affecting Chrome too then, as I did my speed test in Chrome.

hmmmm  it may be chrome.
I did the above test in FF which gave me correct speeds.
Ive just tried it in chrome and got 472.35 Mbps.   Doesn't chrome use some propitiatory flash rather than Adobe.

I've been using Chrome for around a month and the BTW speedtest has never given an accurate result.

Chrome user here too! Compared to BT test both Ookla and TBB report speeds 15-20% higher, and Ping 60%+ less. using MS Edge was more accurate except for Ping.

Chrome does, but you can install Adobe's if you wish I believe. I've just tried the test again and it's now almost correct, not sure why.

Just checked, BTW Test still showing 200+

Ookla & TBB give almost identical just over 50 up & 10 down...
Pings are slightly different @ 20/21ms vs 26/27ms

Speedofme always seems to give excessively or unreasonably high results.

Just gave speedof.me a go and download wise it wasn't bad, 40.8mbps but apparently my upload speed is 147.64mbps, which seems a little high for my 55/10 FTTC connection. :D

I'm still on ADSL. Tried it a few times, and had same. The encouragement to buy System Mechanic, when it said my speed was low, although download was compatible with sync I did not like. Moreover the upload was less than other tests, but surprise, at the start was inordinately high.

I just tried speedofme and found it to be very inaccurate on download. It showed 27.4 Mpbs when I'm sync'd at 60 Mbps and I see results in mid/high 50 Mbps from all other testers.

I now tend to favour Ookla i.e., speedtest.net but mainly due to there being a Linux command line front end.
