Draytek Vigor 130 Update (back to 80Mb)
« on: March 07, 2018, 08:48:19 PM »

Hi guys quick update about the Draytek Vigor 130 I had last year. (got stuck at 74Mb down from 80Mb so went back to smarthub)

Had master socket moved so decided to try again (purchased again), distance is around 5m extra. The wiring was faulty at first (due to move) so the speed dropped to 67Mb and was stuck on it for around 3 days even though attainable was now above 80Mb.

Next day I called up BT and requested DSLAM reset. Now I'm not sure if DSLAM kicked in or was actually reset but my speed was syncing at 78.7Mb by next morning (6.47am).

The only issue was my upload was now interleaved, I waited a week but no change so I changed the snr delta to -30 and within couple of days it was back on fastpath and sync speed was back to 80Mb :) not sure if that actually had any bearing on it but i did use snr -30 when I was stuck on interleaved last year and it went back to fastpath.

snr delta: 0 (default for modem) (only 2 hours worth of data)
dl attainable: min: 78.2 max: 84.4 actual: 67.0
us attainable: min: 20.8 max: 22.4 actual: 20.0

snr delta: -50  (7 days worth of data)
dl attainable: min: 91.7 max: 108.7 actual: 78.7
us attainable: min: 20.4 max: 21.8 actual: 20.0

snr delta: -30  (4 days worth of data)
dl attainable: min: 79.6 max: 93.1 actual: 80.0
us attainable: min: 22.4 max: 25.1 actual: 20.0

adsl count images;
adsl-counts-03-03-2018;
adsl-counts-07-03-2018; CRC: 21,  SEC: 310, ES: 10, difference between the two images (4 days) (showtime counter).

reckon it all looks good?

last-17-days.png; first solid line after I set the snr delta to -50 and it re-synced (or was reset), second solid line when I set the snr delta to -30 and last one after it was re-synced again by DSLAM.

Note the error counts are cumulative on the graph.

Anyway so looks like things are back to normal for now.

I'm using grafana + influxdb. I wrote a somewhat hacky script to collect the data every 10 seconds and store in influxdb.

Sorry to bump this but I've just fitted a Draytek Vigor 130 on my line to see if my Billion 8800NL R2 was holding back on sync speed.

I've only ever had ~56 down / ~12 up over a year with the Billion but after fitting the Draytek I am now on ~66 down / ~19 up (using -25 SNR Margin).

I had been using a Raspberry Pi with DSL Stats to keep tabs on the Billion 8800NL R2 but obviously I can no longer do this as there are no stats being reported.

Do you have any more details on how you've setup your graphs?
