Three QLN Graphs
« on: January 18, 2018, 04:33:33 PM »

#1 is for a period up to a burst of errors, which caused a resync.

#2 is around time of resync. It's probably my ignorance, but I've never seen a vertical take-off graph before.

#3 Is as now. It has a much longer tail than #1.

Do the three, together, tell any sort story; why the varying tail lengths?

You've uploaded 1 twice.

1 and 2 appear to be identical apart from the anomaly at the end of 2.

Just looking at the tones in use per ADSL band on this page: http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adsl_technology.htm, it would appear you may have made a move from ADSL 1 or 2 onto 2+.

Do the downstream tones now go all the way out to 511 by any chance?

Have you actually checked if it sometimes changes to ADSL2 G.992.3 when it connects? Your line looks about the type and length where it would automatically switch between ADSL2 and ADSL2+ depending if it manages to use any of the higher ADSL2+ tones or not.

You're right about the movement between 2 and 2+. TBH I've never noticed that in Connections Stats before.

Connection has been doing a boogie in last couple of days--2 resyncs this evening. Sync is down from mid 7K to 4.8 now with snrm 9. ES between 7-8 pm approached 100/hour up and down. CRCs horrific in period too.

I'll have to bite the bullet and get someone in.

I have worked out, with a little local info, that distance to exchange is ~2.9 km and to PCP ~880 m. Attenuation is 46- @2+ now 42 @2.

Probably this has nothing to do with above, but three times speaking to a caller, there were beeps similar to a digital alarm.
