Hi I'm Chris, Karma Computing
« on: January 06, 2018, 06:00:19 PM »

Hello I'm Chris

I came across Kitz when trying to wrap my head around DSLAMs and telephone exchanges last year (still trying!) my favourite page on Kitz is http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/telephone_exchange.htm

Typically shy IT guy, my background is in computing (CCNA4,Computer Security BSc from Northumbria University). Started out breaking printers and sometimes fixing them for people, then realised it wasn't really worthwhile and now help family businesses with their IT instead.

My favourite topic I know very little about is electronics and hardware hacking, I like that people here are ripping apart routers and finding out what's inside. I'm of the view this should be encouraged, open hardware as much as copy-left type person.

As a re-seller of Gamma/WildcardNetworks we have very little direct control over our network, can't deny the ambition is to get closer to the wire but will let those that know what they're doing handle that till we're in a position to do so. Found UKNOFConf videos really useful.

Happy new year all

Chris
