If I were me, I would turn off all encryption on the router (For testing only) to prove that the signal can be received and I would be able to surf the internet.
Then turn on the encryption in stages till it failed.

Did you download a newer driver? or are you using the Windows zero configuration tool? I would use the Qualcomm driver as it's more informative than windows one.

If you download from here https://www.ath-drivers.eu/download-driver-for-Atheros-chipset-with-id-61-and-Windows10-64bit.html this will also give you a signal strength indicator.

If multiple different devices don't work with the router, there would seem to be little point in messing about with drivers for one device.

I have received replacement router.  The same problem exists, no wifi signal.  Laptop, phone etc cannot 'see' router'.

Tried billion help line, but after five minutes, it dropped out.  I am stumped.

I will try leaving a ticket on billion website and see if I can get a response.

Might be worth trying this. Fire up a command prompt or PowerShell as Administrator (Start > type 'cmd' or 'powershell' > right click 'run as administrator') and type in the following:

Code: [Select]
netsh wlan show networks
Also...

Code: [Select]
netsh wlan show profiles
netsh wlan show interfaces

Is the router still in its 'out of the box' state or have you configured it?
If it were me I'd reset the router (via the pinhole) and then see if a wireless SSID is visible before carrying out any config steps.
Every wireless router I've used has the wireless turned on by default, so it should be possible to connect to it via wireless straight out of the box.

Problem is resolved.  In the easy set up the wrong channel was being selected for 2.4ghz.  I rang the Billion helpline, should have done this before, and they were very helpful, talked me through set up and hey presto laptop, phone etc can see the router.

As noted in previous posts my laptop won't currently support 5 ghz and for me to get this I either need a new wireless card or use the dongle that plugs into USB port.

A further query, should my Andriod phone be able to support 5 ghz, in settings only 2.4 ghz is visible?

Thanks

Depends on the make/model (you'll need to look up its specifications). Most newer devices should support both.

How ironic!

Glad it's all working now.
