DSLstats version 6.1 released
« on: November 19, 2017, 09:55:38 AM »

This is mainly a bringing together of the various changes made in pre-release versions since the v6.0 release, with a couple of small additional changes. Full details in the Changelog.

Revision updated on my old Mk.1B RPi this morning, completely painless, no unwanted side effects or anomalies observed to date, uploading merrily to MDWS.

Your hard work and dedication to this project is very much appreciated.

My QLN/Hlog appear to be longer, including the "show extended tone range" portion but in red rather than blue.
This makes the extended range checkbox do nothing.
Apart from that all appears to be working well.
As always your work is much appreciated!

Thank you. The colour change results from the change I made to use the discovery phase values instead of the medley phase to determine the bands. This was an attempt to deal with a fairly rare combination of bands which resulted in the D3 band being displayed in blue instead of red.

Thanks for the new release.
I see that you removed the "implausible" messages...does that mean that it will now silently drop data points for traffic?

The simple answer to that question is yes, but I dropped the messages because they added clutter to the event log and caused some confusion. Something similar happens when the modem's internal counters pass their maximum values and roll over to zero. In this case I record the new total as the amount of data in that sample (unless it's too high to be believable).

The background to this is that getting the right data from the modem, using the correct interface, has always been a bit hit and miss. This is why I still describe the traffic monitoring as experimental. All I can say is that with correct configuration the reported data seems to be a fairly good representation of the truth.
